Wong Sam Hing Agricultural Company Limited was founded in the 1920s. Over the past 100 years, Wong Sam Hing has transformed from a small local store specializing in vegetable seeds into one of the leading agricultural wholesalers in Hong Kong. We aim to provide our customers a wide variety of high quality agricultural products imported from around the world, and support local agricultural and horticultural needs.
Early 1920s
Wong Sam Hing was founded in Guangzhou, China, with the focus of introducing vegetable seeds to local farmers.
Early 1940s
During the Second World War, Wong Sam Hing moved from Guangzhou to Hong Kong and established “Wong Sam Hing Seeds Company”.
1960s
Wong Sam Hing was appointed by BASF in Germany as the sole distributor in Hong Kong and Macau for its Nitrophoska brand fertilizers.
Early 1970s
Wong Sam Hing Company Limited was formally registered. During this time, Wong Sam Hing introduced new fertilizer products from Europe to local farmers in Hong Kong and Macau to help improve their crop yield.
At the time, Hong Kong was also gradually shifting its focus to environmental greening. Wong Sam Hing had since built a close relationship with various government departments as the supplier of fertilizers and horticultural products, in support of the government’s urban planning and greening initiatives.
From 2001 to present
Wong Sam Hing Agricultural Company Limited was incorporated.
Wong Sam Hing continues to source top quality agricultural products from around the world, such as organic and chemical fertilizers, pesticides, growing media, gardening tools and various vegetable and grass seeds etc.
Current major customers for Wong Sam Hing include local farmers, government departments, horticultural and landscaping organizations, golf clubs, theme parks, housing estates and schools.
